What Parents Need to Know About Ebola and Enterovirus

As you are likely aware, the Ebola virus and the recent outbreak of the Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) have been major topics throughout the county.

The Harper School District understands that parents may have questions about these health issues, and the U.S. Department of Education, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Oregon Health Authority have provided a number of informational resources to share with you. Please be assured that the Harper School District takes all health matters seriously and regularly takes extra steps to keep our schools clean and as safe as possible for our students and staff.

Below are some resources developed for parents:

Harper Charter School is again holding a fundraiser to help support our Student of the Month Program. The School awards a Student of the Month Award each month for grades K-6 and grades 7-12 in each subject area, ex. math, language arts, science, and social studies. The awards are based on effort, attitude, academic improvement and academics excellence to encourage students to do their best. The students are honored at monthly assemblies with a certificate, their picture and names are printed in the local paper. As an added incentive the superintendent has in the past taken them to lunch at the Dairy Queen. This involves 11 students each month at approximately $7.00 per student and the school has done this monthly for each of the nine months school is in session. We would like to continue taking the students to lunch, it is a great encouragement, however the lack of funds may end this practice . To support this program you can place orders through Schwan's. Please click here to view the flyer for ordering instructions. The school recieves 20% of your product purchase and 40% of e-certificates when you order by December 25th, 2014.  The school will continue to receive 5% of your product purchase until November of next year. Please help support your students!
