February 2010
Time is running out if you haven’t yet attended a basketball game. The last home game for junior high is Feb. 2 with Burnt River and high school is on Feb. 11th with Adrian.
Valentines Day is just around the corner so get that someone special in your life the gift of sweets and flowers. The sophomore class will be selling Valentines cookies and carnations. The cookies are $1.00/$1.50 if you personalize them and the carnations are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Contact any sophomore class member to place your order.
The school board meeting has been moved to Monday, February 8th. This is due to the conflict of the games scheduled for that week. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm or as soon as the board is finished reviewing the bills.
The Ladies Club in conjunction with the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation will be sponsoring and conducting a health screening for students as well as community members. They will test vision, hearing, blood pressure and blood glucose. The screening will be held on Feb. 23rd from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Students will be screened in the morning and community members in the afternoon. There is no cost for the screening but donations would be greatly appreciated to help defray the cost of the diesel for the mobile unit. A permission slip returned by Feb. 22nd will be required for students to be tested. For more information please contact JoAnn Mooney or Kay Atkins. The Ladies Club will have cookies and a beverage following the testing. Please pass this along to anyone who might not otherwise get this information.
The application process for the Charter School is progressing; anyone with an interest in serving on the Charter Committee or with questions may contact Superintendent Talbot at 358-2473.
